 True. It refers to a release cycle (unless the first edition is the final
 one), albeit without predicting how much the next edition will change.

 On top of that, there's also "special edition" referring to a
 tailored/customised/modified release. Even Volkswagen uses the German
 translation of that: http://tinyurl.com/pfugyq9
