I strongly disapprove this kind of attitude though I must admit though that I have found great help through the #fedora channel. I don't want to waste time chatting about moderation and then "freedom vs authority". On the other hand when joining #fedora you get a message from ChanServ. It's a disclaimer: [#fedora] "Any advice you read here is provided by individual community members. You should use it at your OWN RISK. This advice is owned by each individual, and does NOT represent the views of Freenode, Fedora or Red Hat. This channel may be logged" No, that doesn't mean that we should start vandalizing the channel, but this message should lower any expectations. That means we are warning people there is no paradise (not on IRC for sure) therefore our friend should not pay attention to anyone disrespectful to him. I hope he will reconsider carefully. Anyway,I suggest we also point people to our mailing lists. -- Konstantinos Antonakoglou PGP key: 0xC9E2E16B <anton.cost@xxxxxxxxx> constanton @ Freenode
