I was very concerned how my taking a job at Red Hat to become a paid Doer would effect my ability to lead in the community. It's very easy to get stuff done when you're paid to do it, and I agree 100% that it puts us paid shills in an unfair light. This is why I have such respect for those that are able to accomplish great amounts of work all on personal or borrowed company time.
