Well, the currently favored solution of telling them to go away certainly meets that. Personally I favor DKMS (and the attendant toolchain requirement) in an outside repository. And big freaking warnings plastered all over everything saying that you should expect your system to lose drivers when the kernel is updated. Not optimal, but at least it allows me to actually use my hardware. But note that this still doesn't save davej's sanity, because it doesn't matter what repo the kernel modules are in. The bugs still get reported against the kernel. The bottom line is that all we can do is keep this stuff out of Fedora; it's still going to come from somewhere. Our choice is whether or not to work with the people who want to provide these things externally. - J< _______________________________________________ fedora-advisory-board mailing list fedora-advisory-board@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-advisory-board _______________________________________________ fedora-advisory-board-readonly mailing list fedora-advisory-board-readonly@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-advisory-board-readonly
