What python-2.4ism's have you found?
Just this one, also mentioned in the link in the original post:
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/libvirtmod.so: undefined symbol: PyEval_ThreadsInitialized
But I'm not sure it's a python 2.4 issue, just guessing based on Daniel P. Berrange's comments in his reply.
