Hello,
I have a RHEL 9 system running PHP 8.1 from the Red Hat AppStream module. I tried to install php-sodium and php-pecl-imagick from EPEL 9 on it, but DNF gave an error that basically said those packages only work with PHP 8.0. Would it be possible to provide versions of those packages that are compatible with PHP 8.1 too?
It is not currently or in the near future possible. In order to build against modules like PHP-8.1, the Fedora build system (koji, mbs, bodhi, pdc, etc) needs to know about the modules it would 'pull' in to work with. However a fundamental way the koji++ build system works requires that Fedora also have built those modules. In order to have built a copy of the AppStream 8.1 PHP, it would also need to compile the underlying OS. It would also have to use those to build the packages versus using RHEL.
