libgit2 0.26 and python-pygit2 0.26 coming to epel7

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

We are in the process of rebasing libgit2 and python-pygit2 from 0.24 to 0.26 in epel7. This brings several API changes for the libgit2 C library, so if you are using it, please make sure to get your code working with the newer library.

To make transition easier, the C library update, libgit2-0.26.3-1.el7 keeps temporary ABI compatibility with libgit2 0.24, which we are planning on supporting until September 2018. During that time, all users are strongly encouraged to recompile against the newer libgit2 0.26 headers to switch to the new 0.26 ABI.

Rebuilds for other epel7 libgit2 consumers are being worked on and will be pushed out during the ABI compatibility window that lasts until September.

Thanks for the attention.

Cheers,
Pete
