Hi,
On a Dell PE2650 with NetXtreme BCM5703 Gigabit Ethernet, running tg3
driver, "ethtool eth0" shows half duplex after bootup, even the router is
full duplex (FD).
"ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off" has no effect,
"ethtool eth0" still shows half duplex.
"mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD eth0" will cause "mii-tool eth0" to show FD, but
"ethtool eth0" still shows half duplex.
Passing -R and/or -r switch to ethtool and mii-tool (can't remember the
sequence) will cause eth0 to lose link completely (ethtool shows "Link
detected: no") and need reboot to get the line up.
After replacing tg3 with bcm5700 driver, ethtool works well. Is it ethtool
problem or tg3 problem?
