I am currently using /sbin/ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off to get the server to full duplex on boot. But the problem I am trying to alleviate is I am mounting several file systems via NFS and when the server comes up in Half Duplex, they do not mount. So I change the duplex in the /etc/rc.local file, but then I find that I have to remount the file systems which is time consuming. One the DL360 G1 we have about 50 of them, and they seem to take options in the modules.conf file fine. So I am just wondering if there is a way when I am initiliazing the network card on boot that I can set the duplex and speed. Yep, we're using the same switch, forcing to 100 FD, tg3 driver. Simple solution: Use mii-tool or ethtool to force the speed/duplexing. mii-tool -F 100basetx-fd eth0 This can easily be included in rc.local or you can create your own rc script.
