How much is that? Last time I've heard (very long ago) it was something around
255 characters IIRC. This will easily be consumed when passing lots of boot
options, especially URLs.

I exceed it and get my cmdlines truncated virtually every install. Mageia seems to do a better job of shortening individual installation options to a minimum so there truncation usually does not happen to me. Really, could anyone think of a more wasteful option than replicating a standard kernel option video=1024x768 with inst.resolution=1024x768?
