Re: anaconda text mode does not start VNC with 512mb ram

I tried with a KVM Guest:

* With 512mb anaconda graphical starts, but text vnc does not (vnc does not start with the same error)

* With 450mb anaconda graphical starts.
:-) well, it just 450mb, i really expected anaconda to refuse to run with such a small ramsize.

* With 535mb anaconda text mode will ask for vnc and vnc works ok. (X86_64 F19b TC3)
* With 528mb anaconda text mode will ask for vnc and vnc works ok. (i386 F19b TC3)

So, that is why i could not launch text mode + vnc on my 512mb netbook, since the current
minimum ramsize for i386 arch is 528mb. I can launch graphical, but it does not work due
to screen resolution (already reported and not a priority), so i normally need to use vnc.

From: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda_Boot_Options?rd=Anaconda/Options
The boot parameter 'nomemcheck' does not work or was removed.

Does text + vnc really consume more ram that graphical?

Cheers.

Cheers.

Hmm, is something like your video card perhaps stealing memory from you?
