Applied, but I also put in another patch to use
MALLOC_PERTURB_=$(($RANDOM % 255 + 1)) if $RANDOM is defined. Can you test
that it works on RHEL 5, since you seem to have that handy?


Tested with a few different RANDOM values and all 179 tests passed.

I was really wondering more about the syntax of the version I committed ;)


Well, the syntax also got tested and it's working fine ;)
