<joke> Q: How do you choke an anaconda? A: Feed it a foreign rat^Wroot. </joke> Seriously, if the installer sees a Ubuntu or Debian root partition on any drive then it will abort with "rpmdb open failed". rhbz #723167 claims fixed in anaconda-16.15, but the latest Fedora 16 Alpha RC1 has only 16.14.2, and 16.15 has not appeared anywhere. Looking a bit more closely, the installer is acting as if an _upgrade_ of the non-rpm root partition has been requested, even though the current phase is only storage discovery (enumeration of partitions before deciding what to do.) Related to this, I've also seen a dialog box complaining that two root partitions using rpm are too old to be upgraded (FC6 and CentOS 5.5), even though the choice to upgrade or install has not been made yet. -- _______________________________________________ Anaconda-devel-list mailing list Anaconda-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/anaconda-devel-list
