I'll push this for master now.  I still need to decide what to do about
f15-branch, though.

Well, the yum version currently in f15 doesn't have the new callback mode so right now there's no benefit other than getting real-world testing that the patch really works for both modes.

OTOH anaconda is the thing doing the biggest installs and upgrades of all and would benefit the most from the new callback and other "header-avoidance" fixes that have gone into yum recently.

Seth, are you planning on pulling an updated yum version into F15? (it would help reduce memory use on upgrades even if anaconda didn't switch to the new callback in f15)
