This is pretty exciting.  I'd definitely like to first get some numbers
on memory usage during installation as it exists right now just so we
know how much these patches help later.

For a rough idea of the memory use now and later, just grab the VmRSS line from /proc/self/status before (and maybe aftertoo ) calling self.runTransaction() in AnacondaYum.

But remember, these patches don't save memory. They're just preparing anaconda for an opt-in change of /yum/ callback convention to something that uses much less memory. For a more detailed (rather lengthy) explanation and history of the topic, see
