[PATCH 4/4] Split out common code from device setup/teardown/create/destroy for reuse.

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

The setup method, for example, ends up consisting of nothing but three
method calls:

_preSetup, which checks preconditions and does preparation for
device activation. Its return value is important as it tells the
caller (setup) whether or not to continue to the actual activation.
Most device classes will not need to define their own _preSetup
method, and those that do will probably want to include a call to
   StorageDevice._preSetup.

_setup, which does the actual device-specific activation. Most device
classes will need to define their own _setup method.

_postSetup, which does anything that has to happen after the device
has been activated. Most devices will not need to define their own
_postSetup method, and those that do will probably want to include a
   call to StorageDevice._postSetup.
