2 patches for network enablement in stage 2

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

[1/2] is more important, fixes non-dhcp network enablement in stage 2

[2/2] is concerning after-reboot network behavior, which is
      such in F14:

* If network is neither enabled nor configured during install:

  - Network will *not* go up automatically after reboot
    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=498207

  - In addition, for *minimal* install there is no default
configuration for ifup (e.g. BOOTPROTO=dhcp is missing) so
it fails. This is not a problem for installed systems with NM.

* If network is enabled or configured during install:

All should work OK wrt after-reboot behavior, except for this bug
for enablement in stage 2 with nm-c-e fixed with patch [2/2]:

"Stage 2 network enablement - immediate Close in nm-c-e leaves
    unusable config for minimal installation"

I'd like to get both of them into F14.
