What im running into is that on SPARC you dont need to append console=ttyS0,9600 for the installer to work over the serial port if you dont have a keyboard plugged in. input/output default to the serial console at the hardware level. however you then don't get any tty post install. This should be redone. so that it checks if we had passed in console on install at the least. other option is to just drop it and notethat post install you need to add console=ttyS0,9600 to silo when you boot to get a console on your serial port.
