Installing from USB using uuid

Hi,

I am using usb flash drives to install a distribution of linux. To prevent issues when using these flash drives on different hardware types I would like to specify the install source by UUID rather than conventional naming (like sda1). I have seen examples in mailing lists where people have used ks=hd:UUID=<UUID here>:/ks.cfg to do this. However, when I try to do the same thing the installer has trouble finding the kickstart file.

I am using anaconda-11.1.2.168-1. When was the ability to specify ks by UUID added into anaconda’s functionality?

Additionally, how do I specify the source by UUID in the kickstart file ?  Maybe something like harddrive --partition=UUID=<UUID here> --dir=/

Thank you for any help!!
