Erm, no, what --initlabel does is *unconditionally* put a fresh disklabel (partition tabel) of the correct type for the arch in all disks listed in the clearpart kickstart command. It does this without even looking at the original disklabel at all (not that this should matter). The correct place to handle this is probably inside DiskDevice (and where necessary inside derived classes).
