[PATCH] stage2= support for real

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Here's the patch set for supporting stage2= for real. This should be fairly
similar to the last set of patches I sent, except that these patches have
fixes for bugs after I got around to testing.

So what's going on now? stage2= takes precedence over method= and always
points at an actual image. If that fails, we drop back to the UI and
treat things as method= from there. We always get the stage2.img file
and put it in /tmp, which eats up memory. This can be optimized later.
In the case of NFS and ISO installs, the installation media will not
be mounted when we transition from loader to stage2. It'll get mounted
later, though.

I have tested NFS and HTTP installs. I think CD installs work, though
I have not had a chance to give them a try just yet. The failure cases
haven't gotten much testing, but I believe they should work based on
those repo config patches I committed a little while ago. The ISO
install methods I am much less sure about.

Comments?
