I got the same message when trying a hard disc install (launched via
PXE) or a network install, as if it didn't recognise the SATA *or*
network drivers.

I will try rebuilding the loader against the latest kudzu and applying
that to my initrd - in the mean time would you mind seeing if this lspci
output identifies the buggy BIOS that you're presumably familiar with?
