About anaconda

Hi,

When we tried to use one NFS server to install RedHatAS4 ppc64 on a dozen of nodes simultaneously, we noticed that some of the nodes hung somewhere during rpm copying and installation (that is, the progress bar shows a number less than 100% for a certain rpm package). The nodes just hung at that screen without any further error messages. I looked into the anaconda log on the problematic nodes, but did not see any useful information for debugging this problem.

Speculating this would be a NFS performance problem, here comes my question:

Does anaconda blindly wait there in the middle of retrieving an rpm package, or is there a timer to decide whether it has been too long for this package to be transferred?

And, can anyone shed some light on whether there is a sort of switch that I can turn on to give me more useful information about what anaconda is doing when the nodes hang there?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards
