In my complete oblivious state, after deciding to tail the install.log on the next attempt, I realized that it was because all RPMs were installing alphabetically. Doh! Yes, stupid, pkgorder *IS* required! Yes, I should have realized that. Yes, I honestly didn't notice it until the tail was spitting it out before my eyes in real-time -- again, Doh! My apologies for using the list as a brainstorm.
