thanks for the email, that works great. However, the Shadowman icon still remains on both the Gnome and KDE taskbar when i log onto Gnome or KDE respectively. Do you know the steps for replacing that as well?
Also, i will like to completely refrain from using the names fedora in any of my rpms, do you know whats steps are necessary to completely replace the fedora-logos rpms and sources with something like mydistro-logos.rpm which will be used in place of fedora-logos.

For this you have to change the theme. The is configured in the
libgnome package.
Edit the patchfile :
/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/libgnome- 2.7.2-default-icontheme.patch
change the theme Simple again to gnome. recompile the rpm and check it.
This will change the whole icons in the desktop. Otherwise you have to
edit the main-menu icon in redhat-artwork package.
