Fwd: kernel-BOOT-2.6.* .config file missing or...

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I am trying to replace the default kernel on Fedora Core 3 CD, as it
might be the reason for some
of the problems that i am experiencing before starting the GUI install
phase of installation.

The systems are cPCI-6860A based boards...
The installation crashes the system while trying to decompress the
stage 2 file the error
messages displayed are something like....
"gzlib: invalid data to decompress" and like....

The error is occasional, i.e. 3 times out of 10 times installation.

Tried everything writing to clean cds, changing cdrom drives and all.

So now trying to replace the kernel to latest revision available
2.6.10-1.741_FC3 it is.

As per instructions in another really old post for other site,
http://www.techonthenet.com/linux/rh9_update.htm

The kernel src RPM doesn't has kernel-BOOT-*.config file
Any ideas, how to integrate the new kernel onto the CD, and make it work

Thanks in Advance...
