Creating updated rh62 install tree

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

I'm trying to setup a Red Hat 6.2 install tree (don't ask why!) that includes all the errata etc. I've run into quite a few problems. Firstly, I can only apply updates built on a pre rpm4 system (rh62 is distributed with rpm3). I can add db3 and rpm4 to the install tree and that still works, but if I add any other rpms built after the change to rpm4, then it says the rpm is installed but there are no files from the rpm on the system.

I'm guessing that it maybe a problem with anaconda being built against rpm3, I've rebuilt the anaconda rpm on my rh62 system with rpm4 installed but this didn't help. I've also tried to update the /sbin/loader+/sbin/init in the initrd.img on the bootnet.img floppy to be built against rpm4 libraries (I couldn't get the initrd.img down to a size small enough to go on the floppy!).

Does anybody have an idea if I'm even looking in the right place to solve these problems?

I'm installing using NFS and kickstart.
