I have not come across the error you are experiencing. However, I could suggest that you remove the sections from comps that you do not need. E.g. remove GNOME, KDE, X Window, etc, from comps and the corresponding Kickstart file. That way you can make the comps file smaller and more manageable. Next would be to make sure all the packages in comps file are present in your RPMS dir on your CD.
