thanks chris for the info.
I will certainly check it out again. I did not find
these answers and hence I thought I would post it here.

Keith, this has been delt with a few times already on the
list.. browsing thru the archives will give you many awnsers, why certain
choices were made, etc.. The short awnser i believe to be "Yes" though. Also,
there's plenty of build-your-own-redhat-cd resources out there, which also
cover the subject of the comps.xml file and if you need modifications to it..
I would sugest reading up on the material out there a bit (the archives also
cover why comps.rpm is in the base dir) and save us the time of digging it up
for you ;-)

This
is the 3rd time I have posted this question.
Was
the question I asked too silly or is it that the answer is not
available.
Please
let me know.
Thanks.

Subject: Fw: comps.xml
Hi All,
I was just wondering,
Is it possible to create a customised CD of
RPMS from the 3 CD's and just running genhdlist and not making any changes
to the comps.xml file.
Would it work.
Why is the comps.rpm situated on the RedHat CD
in RedHat/base/.
