Hey Alan,

Crouton is Linux running as a VM in ChromeOS, right? I've completely removed ChromeOS and 
installed a full UEFI BIOS.

I did yesterday a test with arecord, but it only contained noise while I did talk and
scream into the microphone... :-/

This is the output of amixer contents for card 1, which is the chtrt5650 codec and has
the internal mike to it connected. Card 0 is for HDMI.
