sound device does not have any capture controls

Hi there!

A couple years ago, I was using a RME digi32 PCI sound card with optical input to record music.

Now, I am trying to install this device, but alsamixer refuses to recognize the card as an input sound card.

here my cards, the last two being in the GPU video card:

I compiled the "alsacap" program, which reports :  alsacap -R

the problem seems to be in the aslamixer and the pulse audio volume control

alsamixer reports playback, but no capture:

F6: select REM digi32 card

F4: sound device does not have any capture controls

when running xfce4, the pulse audio volume controls is disabled for the recording/input tab.

I know this sound card have previously worked for recordings and soun input device.

what can I do?  can someone help me?

I really would like to use this sound card as a recording source.
