Can I use amidi to send (midi) data to the midi input port on a soft-synth?

Hi. I'm running linuxsampler on debian, and all is good:

aconnect -lo
...
client 129: 'LinuxSampler' [type=user,pid=5779]
    0 'Port 0 '

I would like to send a short sysex message to linuxsampler, and I know
the hex representation for the message I would like to send:

F0 41 10 42 12 40 11 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 F7

Can I use amidi to send this sysex message to linuxsampler?

If not, is this considered to be a bug (such as an "error of
omission") in amidi?

Thank you.
