The motherboard documentation doesn't suggest that anything special is
necessary, and it works as expected under Windows (i.e., plugging an analogue
speaker pair with a green plug into the green socket on the motherboard
produces the expected volume of audio.)

IF "ALC888" doesn't mean anything, what further information can I provide that
might assist with the problem? I'll provide anything necessary. I really need
to get this working.
