I've come across an odd behavior: If I add a dummy pcm in .asoundrc :
pcm.dummy {
type plug
slave.pcm "plughw:0,0"
}
I can see it listed with aplay -L.
However, my own code, which uses the same exact mechanism as aplay does (snd_device_name_hint) does NOT list the dummy device.
Ideas?
