I tried Ralf Mardorf's suggestion about editing /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and addiing the statement: # ALSA module ordering options snd slots=snd_ca0106,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_intel So far, Ive logged in on three separate occasions and the ca0106 card has been listed as 0 (primary).
