Hello all!
I got a Microcone USB sound Device. According to the web page (http://www.dev-audio.com/support/linux/) it should work with Linux. I only got it to work with Ubuntu 12.04. Now I am using Fedora 20 and also want the Microcone to work with Pidora or Raspian. On Ubuntu 14.04 it also does not work. On all these 4 systems I have the same troubles with the Microcone device: Recording 1 second of audio takes 2 seconds. The resulting WAV file has a duration of 1 second and is distorted. It sounds like being played double time. An example recording can be found at http://www.itbh.at/data/test.wav I don't see the difference between the Ubuntu 12.04 ALSA configuration and my current ALSA configuration (except the ALSA version). Can anyone please give me a hint how to deal with this issue? See below my ALSA version and configuration as well as how the Microcone is detected. Thank you very much and kind regards, Christoph 1 Fedora 20 ═══════════ 1.1 Kernel ────────── ┌──── │ uname -a │ │ Linux funky-thinkpad 3.17.3-200.fc20.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Nov 14 19:45:42 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux └──── 1.1.1 Loaded modules ╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌╌ ┌──── │ lsmod | grep -i snd │ │ snd_usb_audio 161252 1 │ snd_usbmidi_lib 29855 1 snd_usb_audio │ snd_rawmidi 29794 1 snd_usbmidi_lib │ snd_hda_codec_hdmi 51866 1 │ snd_hda_codec_conexant 22962 1 │ snd_hda_codec_generic 67662 1 snd_hda_codec_conexant │ snd_hda_intel 30479 4 │ snd_hda_controller 30786 1 snd_hda_intel │ snd_hda_codec 131444 5 snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_conexant,snd_hda_codec_generic,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_controller │ snd_hwdep 17650 2 snd_usb_audio,snd_hda_codec │ snd_seq 62266 0 │ snd_seq_device 14136 2 snd_seq,snd_rawmidi │ snd_pcm 104333 5 snd_usb_audio,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_controller │ snd_timer 28778 2 snd_pcm,snd_seq │ snd 75905 26 snd_usb_audio,snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_conexant,snd_pcm,snd_seq,snd_rawmidi,snd_hda_codec_generic,snd_usbmidi_lib,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel,thinkpad_acpi,snd_seq_device │ soundcore 14491 2 snd,snd_hda_codec └──── 1.2 ALSA version ──────────────── ┌──── │ cat /proc/asound/version │ │ Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k3.17.3-200.fc20.x86_64. └──── ┌──── │ arecord --version │ │ arecord: version 1.0.27.2 by Jaroslav Kysela <perex@xxxxxxxx> └──── 1.3 Capture Devices ─────────────────── ┌──── │ arecord -l │ │ Karte 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], Gerät 0: CX20590 Analog [CX20590 Analog] │ Sub-Geräte: 1/1 │ Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0 │ Karte 1: Microcone [Microcone], Gerät 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] │ Sub-Geräte: 1/1 │ Sub-Gerät #0: subdevice #0 └──── ┌──── │ arecord -L │ │ null │ Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture) │ pulse │ PulseAudio Sound Server │ default │ Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server) │ sysdefault:CARD=PCH │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ Default Audio Device │ front:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ Front speakers │ surround40:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ 4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers │ surround41:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ 4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers │ surround50:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ 5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers │ surround51:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ 5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers │ surround71:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 │ HDA Intel PCH, CX20590 Analog │ 7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers │ sysdefault:CARD=Microcone │ Microcone, USB Audio │ Default Audio Device │ front:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ Front speakers │ surround40:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ 4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers │ surround41:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ 4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers │ surround50:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ 5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers │ surround51:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ 5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers │ surround71:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ 7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers │ iec958:CARD=Microcone,DEV=0 │ Microcone, USB Audio │ IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output └──── 2 Recording ═══════════ Recording 1s takes 2s real time.
