Hello! The problem that I have is more than a year old. My sound card is 00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) (rev 40) 00:14.2 0403: 1002:4383 (rev 40) The modules used for it are snd_hda_codec_hdmi 26777 1 snd_hda_codec_idt 33849 1 snd_hda_intel 25030 2 snd_hda_codec 109362 3 snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_idt,snd_hda_intel snd_hwdep 5150 1 snd_hda_codec snd_pcm 57706 3 snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel snd_page_alloc 5874 2 snd_pcm,snd_hda_intel snd_timer 14764 1 snd_pcm snd 49595 11 snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_idt,snd_pcm,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel soundcore 4034 1 snd aplay -l gives **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: 92HD88B1 Analog [92HD88B1 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 The only problem that I have is the strange behaviour of HDMI output. If I try to play video via mplayer using option -ao alsa:device=hw=1.3 then I get no sound on TV and the playback is fast (as when fastforward is used). Things were working fine with kernel 2.6.39, but when I've switched to version 3.2 this problem has appeared. Now I've tried it again with 3.10 and things still don't work. What could be the reason for it? I've also tried VLC to play video. There the playback goes at correct speed, but still I get no sound. When I open alsamixer for card1 (HDMI) I see there only one control for S/PDIF. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introducing Performance Central, a new site from SourceForge and AppDynamics.
