Hi,
I'm currently running a stock Linux kernel 3.10.6 on a MacBook Air mid 2012. The ALSA module is running with no user-provided parameters.
This computer has an Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04).
The speakers work fine, but the microphone fails to work in two scenarios:
1. After resuming the computer from suspend
2. If audio codec power management is enabled
I should note that the stock setup is a bit weird, as I can only record sounds with the microphone if I capture stereo sound. Under mono settings, I cannot hear anything. The microphone is mono, but this is mapped to the right channel, which is only recorded by arecord under stereo settings.
Furthermore, I cannot see a mic channel in alsamixer. Only a mic boost channel. I don't know if this is the expected behavior:
