It's an excellent sound card, but _not_ supported. Sure, hdspmixer does
work, hdspconfig and alsamixer don't.

Looking for HDSP cards :

No Hammerfall DSP card found.

Only ADAT 1 and 2 do work, all other ADAT don't work. Sample rates >
48KHz aren't supported. I own the card for 2 years now and nothing did
change. Seemingly there's jitter, since the sound quality isn't that
good with Linux, as it is with Windows. I get xruns even with high
latency on Linux. A while ago I tested it with FreeBSD, they've got a
driver too, but to do serious tests I installed XP some days ago,
unfortunately I don't have the time to test it right now. However, the
card isn't broken, ADAT does work on FreeBSD and Windows for all
channels.

You better get an older RME card for less money, OTOH you might not get
PCI mobos in the close future.
