Problem with microphone on Macbook Pro 9,3

Hello,

I'm unable to hear anything but static through my built-in microphone, 
no matter how I adjust the settings in alsamixer. I'm not sure what 
information is needed, I've appended lspci, lsmod and 
/proc/card0/codec#* output. My laptop is a Macbook Pro 9,3 (mid 2012 
13").
