Roland UA-55 on AV Linux 6.0

I'm on AV Linux 6.0, trying to use my Roland UA-55 external soundcard. What can I do to try to get it working? If I reinstall my operating system with the UA-55 plugged in to usb, will it set up the driver? Please let me know what kind of information I can provide. I'm willing to try anything in order to get this card functionable on linux. Is there a driver in development? If so, I would like to give it a try.
cat proc/asound/cards give me no Roland results.
