snd_pcm_sw_params_get_boundary returns unexpected value

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello. I realize that my prevous thread on the audio pops is not going
to get any traction; but I am hoping that at least this question that
arose from it can be addressed:

On the several different computers that I have tested my code on, I get
the same unexpected behavior from this call:

snd_pcm_sw_params_get_boundary(sw_params, &boundary);

The result is a success, with boundary set to:

0x4000000000000000 (on a 64 bit system for which a snd_pcm_uframes_t is
8 bytes wide).

I don't understand this value. It is very large and cannot possibly be
the count of the number of frames in the ring buffer. Or maybe I am
misunderstanding what the return value is supposed to represent?

Thank you,
Bryan
