Please do not confuse line-*in* and line-*out*.

The default should be fine.

You should get sound at the line output regardless of any mixer settings.
(I don't know which socket is line out.)

These controls are to allow to get surround output on cards that have
only three sockets.  Leave them at "Line-In" and "Mic-In".


Run "speaker-test -Dplug:surround51 -c6 -twav" and check what signal
comes from which socket.
