Clemens,

~$ uname -vrs
Linux 3.0.0-16-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 27 17:44:39 UTC 2012

I downloaded the latest version of Ubuntustudio 11.10 only recently (a
couple of weeks ago) and installed it right-away from DVD. Should I
still go for a newer one (is there)?

Can you give me a hint how to look for that?
I never worked on the logfiles, but would it be e.g. like 'cat
/var/log/syslog | grep bandwidth' ? Only that does not give me any
interesting error-messages:

/var/log$ cat syslog | grep bandwidth
