Crackling noise for Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC259 Analog [ALC259 Analog]

Dear all,

  After much struggle I can sort of get the internal mic to work on my
Toshiba Satellite Laptop, using:

$ cat modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
...
options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba

With:

$ aplay -l
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC259 Analog [ALC259 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
...

Does anyone knows why I am getting this crackling noise when recording
? I could not get the default tools on linux to work, but I can hear
my voice using skype 'test call'.

Thanks,
--
Mathieu
