I disagree that it is obvious. The answer could for example start with an introductory words/a preface. So it is ambiguous. Anyway, this topic has probably been discussed on the Internet enough. But in my opinion one should look what the main users of a list are doing and for lists dealing with free software most people and especially the ALSA developers use interleaved style.
