If this is for HTPC use, you may want to investigate the ion2 1080p performance under linux. The general consensus is the driver from Nvidia isn't very good under linux as opposed to windows. VLC is especially problematic since it doesn't use any of the advanced features. Basically what I'm saying is if this is for HTPC, then don't knock yourself out fixing sound issues unless you are 100% sure the video is ok. I begrudgingly paid the windows tax for my Asus as510Nt-i board. The mobo was $139 and win 7 64 bit OEM was $109. Grrr. That said, it is always good to increase the linux/alsa knowledge base. -----Original Message----- From: Zombie Ryushu <zombie_ryushu@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 6 Feb 2011 10:43:09 To: <alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Problems with the Nvidia ION2 Chipset. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The modern datacenter depends on network connectivity to access resources and provide services.
