Unfortunately, some apps, libs, plugins, etc. don't use standard gnome command line processing and do not set this capability. Which is why I wonder if there's yet another way, such as environment variable, or some special extra magic setting I can add to /home/npm/.gconf/system/gstreamer/0.10/default/%gconf.xml ?
