You mean check if the volume is set to zero? Surely not under Windows,
on linux I can't know due to the lack of mixer.
I tried again but I can't get it working :-(

Please do it soon, I just can't use it if it can't play anything...
I'm not a developer, but as I said on the m-audio forum I will be
happy to donate 20$ to help develop it.
