I don't think that *this* patch will make it into the main code base. It 
has flaws, e.g. 44100 Hz don't work, there's no mixer support although 
the mixer seems to behave mostly like a standard USB mixer.

So before the Alsa developers adopt it in the main line some things have 
to be worked out. Unfortunately, noone so far seems to be interested in 
working on it. That is, *I am* interested but I do n't have enough 
understanding of ALSA and USB audio devices.
